yaʿlamūna ẓāhiran mina l-ḥayati l-dun'yā wahum ʿani l-ākhirati hum ghāfilūn
They know (the) apparent of the life (of) the world, but they, about the Hereafter, [they] (are) heedless.
they know but the outer surface of this world’s life, whereas of the ultimate things they are utterly unaware
They know only some appearance of the life of the world, and are heedless of the Hereafter
